Egg-aggerated Prices

Brooklyn, New York Cartons of eggs at Pioneer Supermarkets in Flatbush on January 12 show the staple’s skyrocketing cost. The price of eggs, the fourth most-purchased grocery item in the country, soared 60 percent in December from the previous year. An avian flu outbreak that affected nearly 58 million birds resulted in the nationwide egg shortage and price hike, which cooled down slightly in January.
