Wave of Fear

Manila, Philippines: Health care workers, on August 25, treat patients infected with COVID-19 at a chapel converted into an intensive care unit. Hospitals in the Philippines are running out of beds for COVID patients as the country copes with a wave of new cases fueled by the Delta variant. The Philippines has the second-worst outbreak of the pandemic in Southeast Asia. The numbers so far: more than 2 million cases and 33,000 deaths.
