Woman Recreates Viral Cooking Video, Baffles Husband: 'Leave Him Alone'

Who hasn't tried experimenting in the kitchen after watching a viral cooking reel? A woman from Florida has gone viral on social media after sharing her husband's reaction to one of her latest re-creations.

In a post shared on TikTok on Tuesday under the username erica.holm, the poster serves her husband a portion of creamy cheese pasta from a wine glass placed upside down on a dinner plate, with grated parmesan at the base.

While some users speculate that the husband seemed a little confused by the unusual presentation at first, he soon managed to pour the artistic composition on the plate, and according to the poster, he very much appreciated it.

A caption shared along with the post says: "The things I make my husband do after I watch a cool cooking video lol."

The poster told Newsweek that she and her husband, James, have been married for over 10 years, and as the video clearly shows, he's very supportive when it comes to "the crazy things" she tries in the kitchen.

"He thought this dish was fun, but most of all delicious," she said. "This was the first video I've ever made like this and have been amazed by how many people have watched and liked it!

"I watch a lot of cooking shows and videos and saw something similar to this on IG reels and thought I could do something like this. I am always creating new recipes and love to cook."

Over 37 percent of Americans cooked about three to five times a week, and 33 percent cook more than five times every week, according to Statista, citing data collected in 2019. About 8 percent of people cook less than once.

Moreover, 50 percent of those who cook, spend between 30 minutes and an hour in the kitchen. While these numbers date from pre-pandemic times, recent surveys indicate that Americans have, after developing an interest for cooking at home, reverted to pre-2020 habits.

The video quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across TikTok. It has so far received over 15.3 million views and 931,600 likes on the platform.

One user, maybelater485, commented: "That looks so good." And BFrontier said: "It's the cheese drop for me, chef's kiss."

Kaia added: "He's looking up to see your smile cuz your happiness is like his reward for being confused for a while lol."

Another user, Crystal, pointed out: "He was supposed to twist the glass back and forth so the pasta could elegantly spill out."

Caleb S said: "Leave him alone." And Omar Dominguez added: "That's an extra dish you have to wash."
