Woman Hears Kitchen Tap Running at Midnight—Not Prepared for What She Finds

Cats are notorious for doing whatever they want whenever they want, but some take their privilege too far. A cat owner has left the internet in stitches after revealing that she woke up in the night to her cat trying to take a bath.

In a viral video, shared on TikTok on Thursday, under the username professor.thor, the Maine coon cat can be seen sitting by the edge of the sink, watching as it fills with hot water. His owner who just woke up after hearing water noises, can be heard telling him: "What are you doing? It's hot water!"

The hilarious post comes with a caption that says: "00:38 am. have a Maincoon they said." The poster also added: "I woke up thinking one of the kids was having the ultimate piss. wondering why it wasn't stopping I got out of bed, only to realise The Professor wanted to take a bath in the sink at 0038am SMH."

Cats like to stay awake at night because that's when their ancestors in the wild used to hunt for prey, and are active usually in the evening or early in the morning. However, there could be many other reasons for this behavior.

WebMD Pet Health Center, says that if you leave cats alone at home all day, they may stay awake at night to seek your attention and more interaction.

However, that's not always why, some remain up and about when it's dark because they're bored, and others because they're hungry.
