F1 News: Adrian Newey to Be Present at Miami Grand Prix Despite Ongoing Red Bull Exit Talks

Amidst discussions about his potential departure from Red Bull Racing, Adrian Newey is slated to attend the upcoming Miami Grand Prix. Tensions within the team have been noted, particularly relating to his relationship with team principal Christian Horner.

Newey, who has been a pivotal figure in Red Bull's dominance in Formula One, has expressed a desire to part ways with the team, although his departure is not immediate, with his contract set to run until the end of 2025.

While the rumor mill has been active, no formal resignation has taken place, and Red Bull has been keen to assert that discussions are ongoing. According to Sky Sports F1, Newey plans to attend the Miami event, and it has been reported that both he and Christian Horner, the team's principal, will travel to Miami together.

Red Bull's recent performances under Newey's guidance have been nothing short of spectacular. Last season, Max Verstappen dominated the grid, winning almost every race, and the team's success has spilled over into 2023 as well. The technical prowess and strategic acumen brought to the table by Newey have been instrumental in shaping the team's competitive edge.

Looking beyond his time at Red Bull, Newey has been linked with several other top-tier F1 teams, including Ferrari and Aston Martin. Ferrari, in particular, has emerged as a probable destination should he decide to continue his remarkable career in Formula One post-Red Bull.

BBC Sport's Andrew Benson reports:

"Newey has been made offers by Ferrari and Aston Martin. I'm told by sources close to him that he is seriously considering Ferrari but is not interested in going to Aston Martin.

"But I would not rule out someone else coming in for him. Not every team could afford him. But McLaren and Mercedes certainly could - and going there would be less disruptive domestically to Newey, even if it would not have the same romantic draw as Ferrari."

As the Formula One circus heads to Miami, all eyes will not only be on the racers but also on the off-track dynamics involving one of the sport's most acclaimed technical minds. The discussions in Miami could very well determine the trajectory of Newey's illustrious career and, by extension, the technical future of Red Bull Racing.
