Although it's been streaming and available for several weeks now, Purple Hearts is still among the top 10 movies on Netflix.
The movie is based on the novel by Tess Wakefield and tells the story of Luke (Nicholas Galitzine) a soldier who marries Cassie (Sofia Carson), a singer-songwriter.
Carson is an accomplished actor and singer. She starred as Evie in the Disney Channel original movie Descendants and is signed to Hollywood Records.
Although the film has left people divided, fans of the movie have been researching the soundtrack, as many loved the songs played.

Carson performs all eight songs from the soundtrack. She also co-wrote the first four tracks ("Come Back Home," "I Hate the Way," "Blue Side of the Sky," "I Didn't Know") with Grammy nominee Justin Tranter.
Carson has spoken of how important her music is to her, as well as the singers that influenced her, such as Britney Spears. She said that "Britney was part of my childhood and was one of the first introductions to the world of pop music."
What is 'Purple Hearts' about?
The drama and romantic film is not based on a true story, but on a novel written by Wakefield, also called Purple Hearts.
The film follows the story of Cassie and Luke. Cassie is trying to become a successful singer but has an unfortunate history of diabetes. Her father is a hard-working immigrant and both Cassie and her father share liberal political views.
Luke, on the other hand, is much more conservative, quieter, and less outspoken than Cassie. He has a tragic history of addiction, and is indebted to his former drug dealer. He enlists as a Marine, hoping to gain his father's approval.
The pair meet spontaneously at a bar, and after some time, they agree to marry to gain military perks. These benefits include a year of free medical care for Cassie, which she needs due to her diabetes.
However, both their lives are turned upside down when Luke is injured in Iraq by an explosive device, and this brings him and Cassie closer, blurring the lines between their pretend marriage and their true feelings.
