Netflix has now released Season 6 of Grace and Frankie, the penultimate series of the show starring Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin. Among the Season 6 cast members are both a new and a returning love interest for Frankie, an Oscar winner and a former co-star of Fonda's, as well as a business billionaire playing himself.
Who is in the cast of Grace and Frankie Season 6?
Returning in their main roles on the show are:
- Grace - Jane Fonda
- Frankie - Lily Tomlin
- Robert - Martin Sheen
- Sol - Sam Waterston
- Mallory - Brooklyn Decker
- Coyote - Ethan Embry
- Brianna - June Diane Raphael
- Bud - Baron Vaughn
Returning in supporting roles for Grace and Frankie Season 6 are:
Joan-Margaret - Millicent Martin
Before her role in the Netflix show as Grace and Frankie's live-in aide (who first appeared in Season 3 of the show), Millicent was probably best known as Gertrude Moon, the overbearing mother of Daphne Moon (played by Jane Leeves) in Frasier and her role in Days of Our Lives.
In Season 6, Joan-Margaret has issues of her own after she discovers that her immigration visa has run out, causing the gang to try and find a man willing to green card marry her.
Nick - Peter Gallagher
After getting married to Grace in secret at the end of Season 5, The OC and Sex, Lies, and Videotape star Peter Gallagher is back as Nick, the super rich spouse that struggles to compete with the bond between Grace and Frankie.
Jacob - Ernie Hudson
After last appearing in Season 4, at which point he and Frankie broke up, Jacob returns in Season 6 just as Frankie starts to get comfortable in a relationship with someone else. As before, the role is played by Ernie Hudson, best known as Dr. Winston Zeddmore in Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters II and the upcoming Ghostbusters: Afterlife.
Joining the cast of Grace and Frankie for the first time in Season 6, meanwhile, are:
Jack - Michael McKean
That new love interest for Frankie is Jack, a high-profile music exec who she meets at a gala after the pair try and outbid each other for a pair of shoes worn by a member of The Grateful Dead. He is portrayed by Michael McKean, known for movies like This Is Spinal Tap and other Christopher Guest movies as well as series like Better Call Saul and last year's Good Omens on Amazon Prime Video.
Miriam - Mary Steenbergen
After starring with Jane Fonda in movie Book Club, Steenbergen signed up to Grace and Frankie to play Miriam, Nick's no-nonsense ex-wife who now works for him. The actress, who won an Oscar for Melvin and Howard in 1980 has also appeared in Step Brothers, The Last Man on Earth and another Netflix series, Orange is the New Black.
Dr. Rodgers - Elliott Gould
Elliott Gould, who starred alongside Grace & Frankie co-star Lily Tomlin in movies like Nashville and The Player, Martin Sheen in TV movie Conspiracy, and alongside Sam Waterston in Capricorn One, now makes an appearance in the Netflix show as Dr. Rodgers, who have some very bad news for Sol in one episode of Season 6.
Celebrity cameos
As seen in the trailer, the "sharks" of Shark Tank (Mark Cuban, Barbara Corcoran, Kevin O'Leary, Lori Greiner and Rohan Oza) all appear as themselves in an episode that sees Grace and Frankie pitch one of their inventions on the business show, even though Nick has a millionaire's quarrel with one of them. In another episode, meanwhile, we get an appearance from Engelbert Humperdinck, the easy-listening singer of songs like "Release Me," "The Last Waltz" and the immortal "Lesbian Seagull" from the soundtrack of Beavis and Butt-Head Do America.
Grace and Frankie Season 6 is streaming now on Netflix.
