Drenched Gotham

Brooklyn, New York: Cars plow through flood waters on Church Avenue in the Flatbush neighborhood of Brooklyn on September 29. Remnants of Tropical Storm Ophelia caused historic flash flooding across New York City. Governor Kathy Hochul declared a state of emergency, calling it a “life-threatening rainfall event.” The rain shut down much of the city’s public transit system, flooded apartments and stranded many residents.
