Colmar, France A 99-million-year-old fossilized snail trapped in amber named “Archaeocyclotus Brevivillosus” at the Colmar Museum of Natural History, held aloft on March 14. It will be on display beginning in June. This newly discovered species of tropical land snail from the Mesozoic era originates from an amber mine in Burma. The presence of bristly hair on the shell may offer selective advantage during evolution.
