Don’t Bite the Hands That Freed You

Vets check a baby siamang, or black-furred gibbon, on November 1. The animal was treated at the local nature conservation agency’s office after being rescued from a villager. Siamangs, native to the forests of Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia, are listed as endangered because logging and agriculture are destroying their habitat. They are often sold in the illegal pet trade.
