Shake It All About

Makar Sankranti marks one of the most important festivals of the Hindu calendar, celebrating the sun's celestial journey into the northern hemisphere. On Sagar Island, at the confluence of the river Ganges and the Bay of Bengal, a Sadhu - or holy man - casually tosses his head after taking a dip in the water, creating an impressive arc of water. The festival marks the arrival of spring in India.
