'Wordle' #976 Clues, Tips and Answer for Tuesday, February 20 Puzzle

When Wordle first came into our lives, it pretty much became an overnight sensation.

Invented by New York-based, Welsh-born engineer Josh Wardle, the word puzzle launched in October 2021. He had originally created the game for his girlfriend but decided to make it widely available during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Within a month of its public debut, Wordle had gone from 90 players to 2 million, becoming an online sensation that caught the attention of The New York Times.

It bought the game for an undisclosed seven-figure sum and people can now play it on an NYT app or the Wordle website.

There are 2,309 possible answers to choose from, so Wordle can keep us entertained until 2027.

Its premise is simple. Try and guess a mystery five-letter word in six attempts or fewer, with the game resetting every day with a new word. Colored tiles let you know if you're on the right track or not. Green means a correct letter. Yellow tells you the letter is in the word but just in the wrong spot, while gray tells a player the letter does not appear in that day's word.

Some days can be tougher than others on Wordle, but we're here to lend a helping hand.
