Wordle is a New York Times-owned word-guessing game that has kept puzzle and brainteaser lovers across the globe on their toes daily. The word game can be difficult to solve at times, that's why Newsweek has compiled some tips to help you solve today's puzzle.
The daily puzzle game, released by software engineer Josh Wardle late in 2021, has a new word to crack every day, and millions of players worldwide use the game's color-coded system to find the five-letter answer within six tries.
Wardle started working on the game that has taken the internet by storm for his partner Palak Shah in 2013. He completed the project during the COVID-19 pandemic.
A green tile indicates that a player has guessed the correct letter in that position, a yellow tile lets a player know that they have chosen a letter that features in the word of the day, but in the wrong place. Finally, a gray tile means that the letter selected is incorrect, and that is not part of the day's answer.
The chances of cracking the game on a first attempt are slim, according to onlineslots.com, which says the probability of doing so is 0.5 percent. The answer should become more obvious after a few attempts, as players are able to narrow down what letters are and are not in the answer of the day.
Should a player run out of attempts on the daily puzzle, the answer resets the following day.
