Women Wear Same Hairstyle, Internet Revels In The Differences—'Who Is Who?'

A social media video of two friends testing out the same hairstyle, with wildly different results, has stunned viewers across the internet.

The viral video, which has been viewed more than 28.2 million times since it was first shared to TikTok on January 26, captured each of the women showing off their braided ponytails.

"Wearing the same hairstyle so that no one can tell us apart," the video's creator, Margianna, shared in the post.

Magianna, who goes by @maria.lyks on the platform, joked in the post that it would be difficult to distinguish between the two friends now that they're both showing off identical braided ponytails. Although, the two women have very different hair textures which prompted the internet to revel in the difference in response.

One woman dons the braided ponytail look in her thick and wavy locks, while the other woman has shorter, finer and lighter hair.

"My hair when it's curly vs when it's straight," one user commented.

Another user added: "Me before vs after having kids".

The post had been captioned: "Who is who?"

What Do The Comments Say?

Since it was shared to the social media platform on January 26 by @maria.lyks, the TikTok post has been liked by over 4.3 million users and commented on more than 19,000 times, making it Margiana's most popular social media post to date.

Thousands of TikTokers have voiced their opinion on the hairstyle, and the difference in the way the women wear it, in the post's comments section. While others have shared how much they relate to the woman who pulled the trend off with straighter and thinner hair.

"I love thin hair representation," one user wrote.

Another user added: "I bet the second one is so easy to wash."

"Someone with thin hair, THIS IS PAIN," a third user shared.

A different TikToker commented: "I did a test and it gave me fine hair, but my hair looks more like the first one. Like every hairdresser tells me i have a lot of hair."

"THIN HAIR GIRLS I AM WITH YOU AND I SEE YOU," added another user.

"Thin hair is my biggest insecurity, my friends point it out every time we meet. It's also genetic for me so I can't even grow it thicker," a different TikTok user wrote.
