Woman Thinking Kitten's Tail Wouldn't Be Fluffy Shocked At Transformation

A Maine Coon called Oliver has captivated millions of viewers on TikTok with his remarkable transformation from a kitten with a surprisingly tiny tail to a magnificent, fluffy-tailed adult.

A post shared on Wednesday under the username oliver_mainecoon, shows the ginger cat as a kitten, looking like any other domestic cat with a small tail. The second part of the clip shows his shocking transformation.

His owner, 22-year-old Lilie from Dublin, told Newsweek: "Oliver is one year old and still behaves like a kitten! When we first bought him his tail was short and wispy and we were convinced he wasn't even a Maine coon!"

Lilie documented Oliver's development on TikTok, where she regularly posted updates about his growth. The transformation became apparent when Oliver was around ten months old. His tail began to fill out rapidly, unfolding the lush, bushy features typical of Maine Coons.

"It felt like it happened overnight," Lilie noted. Her videos showcase this dramatic change, capturing Oliver's playful antics and the burgeoning splendor of his tail, which drew a significant following eager to witness his development.

Maine Coon Central explains that while the average cat tail is about 11 inches long, for a Maine Coon that's about the shortest size. The longest recorded tail reached an amazing 16.3 inches.

The video quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across TikTok. It has so far received over 4.8 million views and 909,500 likes on the platform.

One user, SUZYQ1121, commented: "I just KNOW his favorite spots are dust free. I'd put him on top of cabinets, the fridge. Have him walk on/under every shelf of the bookcases."

User6204610744878 said: "Wow what a fantastic feather duster you don't have to polish anymore." And Crunchy added: "Probably the prettiest orange cat I've seen and I'm not really a cat person lol."

Another user, Erica Paige wrote: "That's what got us. I thought I adopted 2 short-haired cats. As they grew, I quickly learned I was mistaken, and now they both have built in feather dusters."

PUMPKIN added: "Same thoughts went through my mind when I first got my Pumpkin. Now he's a complete cheeto puff."
