Woman Discovers Stray Cat Kittens on Her Tree, Everyone Asks Same Question

A woman found a litter of kittens near a tree in her backyard, and the internet can't stop asking how she got a kitten-producing tree.

In a video posted on TikTok Monday, under the handle @mrshappyhomemaker, Crystal, who lives in Georgia, is seen discovering the kittens on and near a tree in her yard and taking them inside her home.

Crystal told Newsweek that she had been feeding a stray cat for a while, and that the cat recently gave birth in her yard. "I had been looking for them for a while and finally found them when a neighbor witnessed mama cat moving the kittens," she said, adding that she was fostering the kittens in her home.

The video quickly went viral on TikTok, receiving more than 20.9 million views, 3.5 million likes and 15,000 comments—with many users asking, "How does one obtain tree kittens?"

Crystal said that while the cat and three of her kittens were OK, a fourth kitten was born with deformed front legs, meaning she would have additional needs.

"I took them all to the vet the next morning, as soon as it opened. The vet said the kitten's front paws were likely deformed in the uterus. Mama cat isn't even a year old herself, so there wasn't much room in there," she added.

The TikToker said she was contemplating keeping the cat and the disabled kitten, but she was unsure whether she had space for them.

"I'm a widow with three kids and a small farm," she said, adding that she already had three cats. "My plate is pretty full, and I don't really need them. But I worry for them and want to make sure they will be OK," Crystal continued.

According to Fuzzy Rescue, a pet-care resource, cats typically have kittens between 6 months and 5 years old, and the optimal age for kitten-bearing is about 2 to 3 years old.

In the comments section of Crystal's TikTok video, users praised the kittens and expressed their disappointment at their yards' lack of kitten-producing trees.

"I just went out and looked at my tree," a commenter said, adding: "No kittens yet. when do kittens usually bloom on trees so I can be ready?"

Another wrote: "My trees don't give me money or kittens. I want trees that give me kittens!!"

"Cuddling angry feral kittens is one of the greatest feelings ever," a user commented. "They're so helpless yet so ferocious."
