Woman on Call With 'Stressing' Boss, She Has Something More Important To Do

One woman's way of injecting a touch of humor into her daily grind has captured the lighter side of remote work culture—poking fun at herself during a virtual meeting with her "stressed" boss.

The woman, who goes by the handle @catrinerica, filmed herself using the meeting time creatively, aligning the ceiling light above her with her head so that it appears as a shining hat. Her clip has become a viral sensation since she shared it to TikTok on April 4.

The woman captioned the post with the simple statement, "biggest distraction lol."

The video showcases a relatable moment of workplace levity that resonated with many social media users.

As workplaces have increasingly adopted remote working—and, as a result, virtual meetings—the dynamics of workplace interactions have shifted, sometimes leading to heightened tensions and stress.

In the video, @catrinerica, whose real name remains undisclosed for privacy, adjusts her head positioning while her manager is apparently stressing out over the ongoing discussion.

"My manager stressing out in an important meeting while I'm trying to line my light over my head to look like a hat," the woman wrote.

Her playful attempt to lighten the mood, which seems to have gone unnoticed by her boss, has garnered over 783,000 views and more than 45,000 likes.

The video struck a chord with viewers not just for its humor but also for its relatability, with TikTok users flooding the comments section with their thoughts.

"Just queen adjusting their crown," one wrote.

Another added: "This is the energy I'm bringing to work today."

A third said: "It really is the little things in life."

The woman's viral video was clearly a lighthearted piece of content, poking fun at how we sometimes take the more mundane parts of the daily hustle too seriously. But recent data has found out that more people are feeling disillusioned in the workplace.

Findings by Gallup, from its 2023 Honesty and Ethics poll, confirmed America's slipping trust in its workforce.

The Gallup survey, which had taken into account 800 U.S. adults on 23 different jobs, found that almost all of the professions assessed have declined in terms of how most people view the moral standards of workers in them.
