Wife Makes Controversial Meal for Husband After Fight and Asks 'Justified?'

A Miami mom's sugarcoated revenge, after a falling-out with her husband, is certainly tasting sweet after turning into a viral sensation.

Jasmine Shefer's video has captured the attention of millions with her playful yet pointed response to a domestic dispute. Based in Miami, Shefer, who posts under the handle @jasmineshefer, shared a clip on April 16 that showed her crafting the outline of a middle finger with dusting sugar onto a black dessert plate.

It was meant to be a symbolic gesture directed at her husband following their argument, and act as way to provide some comic relief after the brief bout of marital tension.

Shefer, who frequently shares lighthearted insights into the hurdles of marriage and motherhood online, told Newsweek about the context behind the clip.

"The video shows what happened after an argument between me and my husband. Because I cook so well—better than a restaurant—if I don't cook for my husband, he simply won't eat! So, tonight, he went to bed hungry," the mother-of-two said.

The video, which has amassed over 7.4 million views, features Shefer humorously preparing to serve the sugarcoated message as an after-dinner treat.

The caption, "30 minutes after my hubby and I had this massive blowout, he's asking me what's on the menu for dinner," set the stage for the sweet act of defiance.

The 32-year-old then teasingly questions her followers: "Is it an overreaction or justified?"

This lighthearted culinary creation has resonated widely among viewers, many of whom empathized with Shefer's frustration about being asked to cook in the aftermath of a row. Others have laughed along with the comedic tone of the clip and cheered on Shefer's mode of getting payback.

"Like is he not capable of feeding himself? Asking that 30 min after a fight is unhinged. Sir. Sit down," one user commented.

Another wrote: "Me personally the fruit was too nice. I'd use ghost peppers next time."

"Next time just put the stems of the strawberries," a third user added.

The clip, which has been viewed more than 7.4 million times to date, concludes with Shefer mockingly walking the plate over to her unsuspecting husband, leaving the audience to wonder about his reaction.
