Viral Video Shows Python Wrapped Around Inflatable Unicorn

A huge snake took a dip in a paddling pool amid the extreme Washington heat in a viral TikTok video.

TikTok user Brytney Johnson shared a video of her pet ball python lying across a unicorn inflatable floating in a paddling pool, with the caption: "Tell me it's the hottest day in western Washington without saying it..."

The video has been viewed more than 800,000 times and liked by more than 150,000 people in around two days.

The Pacific Northwest is experiencing the most severe heat wave in history, with the National Weather Service describing the heat as "historic, dangerous, prolonged and unprecedented."

An excessive heat warning is in effect until 11 p.m. PT this evening. Although it is cooler today, dangerously hot conditions will continue in areas of northwest and west-central Washington.

The National Weather Service warns that extreme heat and humidity will significantly increase the potential for heat-related illnesses, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities.

With the temperatures as hot as they were, it is no surprise that humans and pets alike were looking for some relief from the heat.

However, some viewers were concerned about the snake's safety, with some fearing that the water contained chlorine. But Johnson reassured viewers that there were no chemicals in the pool, telling a viewer: "I'm not stupid. There are no chemicals in the pool. I wouldn't have put her in it if there was."

She also reassured viewers that her snake was able to swim out when she wanted to and told one viewer: "She loved it. Hung out for a while then came to the side when she wanted out."

However, for some viewers, a huge snake floating on a unicorn in a paddling pool was far from the strangest part of the video. A top comment, which received more than 28,000 likes, said: "What is going on in the pool: snake, iguana, cheese grater, McCormick spices, Barbie, unicorns."

Many viewers thought that the snake was joined in the paddling pool by an iguana going for a swim, but Johnson clarified that the "iguana" is a Kristoff, from Frozen, doll.

Others thought that there was a cheese grater at the bottom of the pool, though Johnson said it was actually a L.O.L. doll purse. The list of the pool's weird and misunderstood contents does not end there, however, as Johnson also had to clarify that what appeared to be a pot of spice floating in the water were actually kids' toys.

In other crazy news about snakes being found where they shouldn't, an eight-foot Burmese python was laying in a woman's driveway in Long Island—but the woman only discovered the snake after unraveling it, thinking it was a garden hose.

A woman in Alabama had a shock when she found a snake curled up on her beach chair, only noticing the reptile just before she was going to sit down. Over in Australia, a huge, venomous snake was found in a child's toy basket, hidden amongst some dolls.
