Tears as Dog Refuses to Leave Owner's Bed After She Goes Back to College

Dogs can create special bonds with their humans, which can make them feel very low and depressed when separated.

A dog called Roddis has melted hearts all over the internet after his owner shared his heartbreaking reaction to his sister moving back to her college dorm after the holidays.

In the viral clip, shared on TikTok on Sunday, under the username gachelraede, the pup can be seen lying on his sister's bed, looking out of the window, as if he were thinking of her, while his owner sits by his side trying to console him.

The post comes with a caption that says: "My sister went back to college this morning and our dog won't leave her room so my dad has been hanging out with him."

If you're wondering whether dogs do love their owners, the answer is yes. VCA Animal Hospitals says: "Science proves that part of the canine brain is associated with positive emotions and they do, indeed, feel love for their human companions."

Moreover, dogs associate the smell of people they love with positive emotions, the same with photos, as they are able to recognize their loved ones.

Many signs prove your dog loves you, but perhaps the most obvious one is their excitement to see you. If your dog jumps or barks or gets overly excited when you step through the door, that's because they couldn't wait to have you back home.

"If you feel like you can not take a step in the house without your dog at your heels, consider yourself loved. Dogs cling to you for more than just security. Unlike other human companions, they can not get enough of your company," the website says.

The video quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across TikTok. It has so far received over 734,600 views and 140,200 likes on the platform.

One user, GiddyGalGrimm, commented: "My immediate statement 'That's gotta be... yup... that's the dad. GET EM RODDIS.'" And Alana Hewitt said: "So much sass in the 'what are you gonna do about it.'"

TSRD wrote: "Roddis such a beautiful boy, missing his snuggle buddy." And boo_ker added: "Aaww....why I'm missing Caro too?!" Joashly said: "I have a dorm but will be commuting this first week of 2nd semester."
