Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez's Golden Globes Gossip Sparks Wild Theory

Selena Gomez whispering into Taylor Swift's ear at the Golden Globes has whipped fans into a frenzy.

Gomez, who was nominated for her role in Only Murders In The Building, ducked over to see her best friend and dish some gossip.

She was seen whispering something to Swift and her guest, actress Keleigh Teller, who both reacted in shock.

"Oh I just know Selena Gomez was talking some *s*** with Taylor. She's so me. Love them. #GoldenGlobes," wrote one fan on X, formerly Twitter.

But before long, people who claimed to be able to lip read deciphered the brief conversation.

They suggested Gomez had told Swift that she had gone up to Wonka star Timothée Chalamet to ask for a photo with him but his current girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, had denied him permission.

The post on X read: "i asked for a picture with him and she (kylie jenner) said no," Gomez was claimed to have said, to which Teller replied "with Timothée?" to which Gomez nodded in confirmation.

Newsweek reached out to Jenner and Chalamet's representatives for comment.

Chalamet and the makeup mogul have been dating since 2023 and went public by sharing a PDA-packed evening at the U.S. Open in September.

Despite Gomez's alleged comments to Swift, Jenner posed for photos with her beau and also Barbie director Greta Gerwig and actress Hari Nef.

The couple were also spotted chatting to Ozark actress Julia Garner.

Regardless of what the stars were actually discussing, people were obsessed with the interaction and shared their thoughts on X.

"how tf does everyone know what selena told taylor at the golden globes like .. so everyone is an expert at lip reading now?? all im seeing is that short clip with music overlayed and head nodding," wrote one person.

Another added: "I love that Selena Gomez went straight to her girl Taylor swift with the tea of what happened while they are in the golden globes! Now that's real friends!"

And a third commented: "the golden globes are weird as hell for joking they won't show taylor all the time yet screening her and selena gossiping the past 2 minutes almost nonstop."

Photos of Chalamet and Jenner's intimate appearance at the Golden Globes sparked debate online, with some fans accusing the couple's relationship of being a "PR stunt."

Earlier in the night, Swift showed her displeasure at a joke about her during host Jo Koy's opening monologue.

He spoke about how she goes to watch her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, play for the Kansas City Chiefs and is constantly photographed while at games.

"The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL? At the Golden Globes, we have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift," Koy joked, but when the camera cut to Swift she was not smiling.

Kelce was unable to attend the Globes with Swift even though he was also in LA for the Chiefs' showdown against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Christopher Nolan's film Oppenheimer, and HBO's Succession were big winners at the 2024 Golden Globes.
