How Many Albums Does Taylor Swift Have? Timeline of Song Releases

Taylor Swift's latest release, The Tortured Poets Department, hit the airwaves on Friday, marking the pop icon's 11th studio album.

Since beginning her career at age 14, the singer-songwriter has racked up an impressive discography and smashed multiple records.

The 34-year-old is known for being extremely productive, but exactly how many albums and songs have Swift put out during her two decades in the music business?

How Many Albums Has Taylor Swift Released?

As of April 2024, Swift has released 11 studio albums, starting with her self-titled debut, Taylor Swift, in 2006.

Her second album, Fearless, followed two years later. The record brought the country singer mainstream success, with hits including "Love Story" and "You Belong With Me."

Speak Now, in 2010, was the first of Swift's albums to debut at number one on the Billboard 200, selling 1,047,000 copies in the first week alone.

Red (2012), 1989 (2014), and Reputation (2017) also debuted in the top spot and sold more than 1 million units in the first seven days.

Lover (2019), Folklore (2020) and Evermore (2020) continued Swift's Billboard-topping streak, while Evermore made Swift the first artist to have seven albums make over 500,000 sales in the first week.

Her 2022 release, Midnights, broke another record, becoming the most-streamed album on Spotify in a single day.

How Many 'Taylor's Versions' Has Swift Released?

Swift began re-recording her early work in 2021, following a rights dispute with music mogul Scooter Braun.

The record executive purchased Big Machine Records, Swift's first label, in 2019, giving him ownership of her first six albums.

Swift's re-recordings are known as "Taylor's Versions," with Fearless, Red, Speak Now and 1989 re-released so far.

How Many Live Albums Has Taylor Swift Released?

Alongside her studio albums and "Taylor's Versions," Swift has also released four live albums.

The Grammy winner issued the Speak Now World Tour—Live in 2011 to accompany the 110-show tour.

However, no more live albums came out until April 2020, when Swift's old label, Big Machine Records, released Live from Clear Channel Stripped 2008 without the musician's consent. The album was recorded early in Swift's career and featured tracks from Taylor Swift and Fearless.

A month later, Swift released Lover (Live from Paris), a recording of a one-off gig at the Olympia theater in Paris, France. A Valentine's Day reissue hit the shelves in February 2023, including two heart-shaped vinyls and additional tracks.

Later that year, Folklore: The Long Studio Pond Studio Sessions was released alongside the documentary concert film of the same name.

The project featured live recordings of all 17 tracks from Folklore and discussions about the album's making at Long Pond Studio, an isolated recording space in Hudson, New York.
