Shock as Bride Shares What She Ate One Hour Before Walking Down the Aisle

The average wedding now costs an eye-watering $33,000 in the United States, but one bride's viral piece of advice clashes with the increasingly fanciful and aesthetic-bound world of wedding planning.

In a recent social media video, the woman who is named Jo, shared that her pre-wedding snack was a bowl of fries. The woman, who goes by @just.jo.things on TikTok, revealed that she indulged in the popular side dish and take out order before walking down the aisle, and she advises other brides-to-be to do the same thing.

This quirky tip has sparked both amusement and a surprising amount of support from viewers, who have gone on to share their own unconventional wedding day treats.

In the video Jo, who is based in Florida, explains her rationale.

"One hour before walking down the aisle I ate two servings of French fries and I'm just here to say that one, my dress fit perfectly, two, I looked perfect, and three, I felt full and happy, so I ten out of ten recommend that experience," she said.

The post had been captioned: "10/10 recommend eating a plate of fries before you walk down the aisle."

While they're known to offer little in terms of health benefits, fries, or at least any carb, do have a slight relaxing effect on the body. This could come in handy for nervous brides, but what the video's creator really wanted to make clear was that brides should feel free to do whatever they want to feel more comfortable ahead of their big walk down the aisle and moment in the spotlight.
