Sausage Dog Comes Up Against 'Biggest Enemy' in Hilarious Viral Clip

A social-media video that captures a feisty dachshund's response to having his claws clipped has left the internet in hysterics.

The viral video has been viewed more than 257,000 times since it was first shared to TikTok on January 14. The clip introduced viewers to Bruno the sausage dog and the demonic expression he pulls whenever he comes up against his "biggest enemy". Bruno's foe comes in the form of a claw-clipper, a small device that veterinary nurses and owners use to keep a dog's claws trim and tidy.

Bruno and his owner, who manages the TikTok account @sausagedog_bruno, live in Germany.

Dachshunds, commonly called sausage dogs or wiener dogs, are a popular breed in the U.S. and Europe. Originating in Germany, they were bred to chase rabbits and badgers down tunnels, hence the name, which means "badger hound." They are known to be quite clingy pets, with a penchant for sitting on their owner's laps.

Dachshunds are highly intelligent, while also being loyal and devoted companions, according to the American Kennel Club (AKC). The breed is strong-willed and smart, too, which can make them more difficult to train or feistier than easier-going breeds such as golden retrievers.

Despite their stubborn and headstrong nature, sausage dogs form extremely close bonds with their owners and tend to latch onto one particular member of their household over others.

Viewers were left howling with laughter at the viral clip after Bruno bared all his teeth and let out a loud growl while being confronted by the claw-clipper. The moment played against menacing background music to add to its comic effect.

The post has been captioned: "Biggest enemy. Claw clipper."
