Pussy Riot Member Nadezhda Tolokonnikova Joins OnlyFans

Russian punk rock group Pussy Riot's founding member Nadezhda Tolokonnikova is offering photos herself on her new OnlyFans account.

Tolokonnikova, 31, who boasts 191,000 followers on Twitter, joined OnlyFans in late July and has gone on to upload adult content that subscribers can view.

The content-sharing platform is popular with sex workers and others who create adult content, which subscribers can access for a fee.

Explaining why she joined the platform in a July 25 post, Tolokonnikova said: "Eroticism for me is about never revealing all at once [high heel emoji] I love and respect artists who work with full nudity though, they're [umbralla emoji, fire emoji].

"For me it's all about shadows, semitones, endless hide-and-seek poetry. And yes, I appreciate how respectful you are to me here. It feels truly supreme."

In an August 19 post, Tolokonnikova said: "I came back after a rave and decided to do some nudes. Because why not, it pleases me [suggestive face emoji]."

The Russian musician also said joining the platform has inspired her musical creative pursuits, adding in a July 31 post: "I wrote a song today inspired by my experience on OnlyFans."

Since joining the platform in late July, Tolokonnikova has shared 24 posts and 58 media uploads.

Newsweek has contacted Tolokonnikova for comment.

Pussy Riot was formed in 2011 and became known for its left-wing and feminist performances, which included strong oppositional statements against Russian President Vladimir Putin.

They were also famed for wearing brightly colored balaclava ski masks and clothing during their protests and performances.

The group garnered international attention in February 2012 when three members took part in an anti-Putin performance at Moscow's Cathedral of Christ the Savior.

Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina were charged with "hooliganism motivated by religious hatred" and spent 21 months each in prison.

Yekaterina Samutsevich, a third member, was released in October 2021.

Their trial and subsequent imprisonment resulted in a widespread wave of support from across the globe, including from international human rights activists.

According to a radio appearance by Tolokonnikova's ex-husband Pyotr Verzilov in November 2019, Russia paid a €37,000 fine (approximately $41,000) levied by the European Human Rights Court in 2018.

It was supposedly due to human rights violations related to the members' arrest and imprisonment in 2012.

Verzilov later suffered a suspected poisoning and was seriously ill and was left needing intensive care. He later went on to recover from the suspected poisoning attack.
