Photos: Dubai Skyscraper Erupts in Flames on New Year's Eve
Fourteen people were injured, the police chief says.
The Address Hotel in Dubai erupted in flames just hours before New Year's Eve celebrations were scheduled to begin.
Though a Dubai civil defense official said the fire caused no injuries, the local police chief told Newsweek Middle East 14 people sustained injuries, most of them minor.
Despite the fire at the 63-story building, the fireworks display and celebration went on as planned.
