Why Patrick Mahomes Thinks Travis Kelce Is Putting on a 'Persona' Amid Taylor Swift Romance

Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek's network of contributors

Patrick Mahomes recently admitted he's having a hard time keeping up! The NFL star appeared on a recent episode of Logan Paul's Impaulsive podcast, revealing how fatherhood has shifted his ability to keep pace with the lively Kelce brothers.

The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, who has two young children with his wife, Brittany Mahomes, humorously admitted his party days have taken a back seat. "No, I cannot [keep up with the Kelce brothers]. I used to, I think, and then I had kids," Mahomes explained.

The 28-year-old father highlighted the lifestyle adjustments necessary when balancing parenting and professional commitments, noting that Jason Kelce, also a father, faces similar choices. "Jason has kids too, so he has to pick and choose, but when he chooses, he can go," he said.

Meanwhile, Travis Kelce, who is known for his vibrant personality, was commended by Mahomes, saying, "He puts on this persona, I'm partying, drinking, whatever, but he's really super intelligent."

Travis recently made headlines at a fundraising gala in Las Vegas for the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation, where he auctioned off four tickets to girlfriend Taylor Swift's Eras Tour, raising $80,000 for charity. Reflecting on the event, Travis expressed his enthusiasm on the New Heights podcast he hosts with brother Jason, appreciating the support they receive for their community initiatives. "It's always fun doing something exciting and getting everybody together for a great cause," he stated.

Eyewitnesses at the gala reported that Travis and Swift appeared very affectionate, contributing to the night's warm atmosphere. A source told Entertainment Tonight, "They walked in holding hands and were affectionate all night," one gala attendee remarked, noting the couple's visible support for each other.

After their eventful weekend in Las Vegas, fans of the high-profile couple are eagerly anticipating their potential red-carpet debut at the upcoming Met Gala on May 6. While it was previously speculated that the couple might skip out on the event, a recent report from Page Six suggests that the pop star could indeed make an appearance, aligning with a break in her global Eras Tour, which resumes on May 9.

Neither Swift nor Travis have confirmed their attendance to the gala.
