Courtney said: "Last week I was hanging out with my mom when all of a sudden she goes, 'it's so crazy how much your dad loves me' and I'm like 'I know' and she's like 'no' like 'you don't understand, your dad just loves me for who I am as a person'."

The mom unveiled to her daughter that in their relationship spanning three decades she has never felt any need to change and that her partner loves her for who she is.

The proud daughter said: "She essentially said like, he worships the ground that she walks on, isn't that so crazy, I don't have to do anything, and he just loves me."

Courtney added she had also felt deeply loved by her dad, but she was not his top priority.

She said: "Obviously my dad loves me so much, but in our household, my mom was always number one, and I was number two, and he was number three."

The Californian said due to growing up with this dynamic, she hopes her future husband follows the same formula went it comes to prioritizing her.

She then unveiled a 'morbid' analogy her dad told her for the first time when she was just 10.

She said: "He said if me and my mom were drowning and he could only save one person, he would save me, no questions asked.

"But he would jump back in and drown with my mom and die together, oh my God that made me cry, but I feel like that's true love."

TikTokers were astounded by the strength of Courtney's dad's love for her mom.

Ellie said: "A man can love that deeply ....? Wow...."

Another commented: "My father is the same way.

"As a child it felt unfair, as a woman I can understand and respect it a lot more. Too many husbands undermine their wife in favor of their children."
