Owner Shows Reality of Being Woken Up by Golden Retriever—'Only Kisses'

A dog owner has melted hearts on the internet after revealing how her golden retriever wakes her up in the morning in a clip that quickly went viral on TikTok.

In the video shared to the social media platform earlier this week by @goodboybodie, the golden retriever named Bodie can be seen jumping on his owner's bed, trying to understand if she's opened her eyes yet.

Once he sees she's clearly awake he starts giving her lots of kisses before lying down on her for the first cuddle session of the day.

The heartwarming clip comes with a text overlay that reads: "Waking up with a golden retriever," while the video's caption says: "He was so calm this morning, no bites only kisses?! I'll take it!"

Newsweek has reached out to goodboybodie for comment via email. We could not verify the details of the case.

According to dog wellness experts at Pet Keen in article published in February, dogs love sleeping with their owners for many reasons, but mostly because we provide them with warmth and companionship, and our presence helps make them feel safe at night.

The American Kennel Club (AKC) says that slightly less than half of all dog owners in the country share their bed, or at least their bedroom, with their pooches, adding that there are many benefits to co-sleeping with your pup.

Among other things, co-sleeping with your dog can ease anxiety, and can also provide you with a feeling of safety and security. In fact, being close to you makes it easier for your dog to alert you when something out of the ordinary is happening.

However, AKC also explains that there are some health concerns related to co-sleeping with your dog, like, for example, they can aggravate human allergies. Additionally, there is also the risk of them carrying nasty bugs, like fleas or ticks, which can cause disease.
