Owner Shares Hilarious Way He Keeps Golden Retrievers Out the Kitchen

A dog owner has gone viral after sharing his hilarious method of keeping his cheeky golden retrievers out of the kitchen whenever he needs to clean.

Maintaining a spotless house isn't easy for Noah Chappie Elias, because whenever he wants to clean up, his excitable dogs have other plans. Elias has had to resort to extreme measures lately just to ensure he can do all of his housework, so he found a genius way of keeping his pups out of the kitchen long enough to mop.

Elias shared a video, which you can view here, showing how he barricaded the room with some chairs placed in the doorway to keep the golden retrievers out. The hilarious clip was posted on TikTok (@noahchappieelias) on January 2, and it's already been viewed more than 5.8 million times and gained over 732,000 likes at the time of writing.

Some dogs may have been able to crack the code to get past the complex barrier, but not these two, as they both seemed rather perplexed by it. While one golden tried to wiggle his way through the chairs, his companion could be seen dancing around in the background. Fortunately for their owner, it kept them busy long enough to get his cleaning done without any interruptions.

It's no secret that golden retrievers are very affectionate and loving dogs, so naturally they want to be with their owners at all times. This can often mean that goldens interfere with just about anything—whether you're on a work call or trying to enjoy a relaxing bath. The American Kennel Club (AKC) recommends owners do obedience training and socialize their pup from a young age, as these methods can correct any bad habits before they take shape.

Because they require quite a lot of mental stimulation, golden retrievers need plenty of exercise every day, which they can get from walking, playing fetch, field trials, tracking and agility training.

The Social Media Response

Since Elias posted the video, which was accompanied by the caption "Time to mop," social media users have become obsessed with his energetic golden duo. The TikToker has even shared follow-up clips of his dancing dog because so many people loved seeing the happy moves.

With millions of views and more than 2,000 comments on the post already, the pups certainly appear to have a new fan club who just can't get enough of their antics.

Among the TikTok comments, one person responded: "Not the smartest, but my goodness the love."

Another social media user joked: "Only one brain cell to share and neither one had it."

While others praised the dancing golden, as one comment reads: "Those are some world class tippy taps."
