Orange Cat With Four Trees and Five Beds Chooses To Sleep in Strangest Spot

A social media video that captures a cat's unusual favorite resting spot has delighted viewers across the internet.

The viral video, which has been viewed more than 6.2 million times since it was first shared to Instagram on January 12, introduced internet users to Cheeto the tabby cat and his penchant for long naps with his head in his owner's slipper. It can be seen here.

Cheeto's owner, who manages the cat's Instagram and TikTok accounts, revealed in the post that the pampered feline not only has five beds but also four cat trees to his name. Despite the significant comfort provided to him by his owner, Cheeto makes clear in the short clip that his preferred spot for an uninterrupted rest remains to be with his head inside the brown wool slipper.

"We have a lot of options for both our kittens, Cheeto and Dixie, to sleep on such as cat beds, towers, a cat nest, but for some reason Cheeto prefers his mom's slippers," Cheeto's owner told Newsweek.

"Some people say it's the smell but he fell in love with the shoes as soon as they were unpacked and before anyone had a chance to even try them on. It's probably the material that he likes. And the color of course as others say."

The unconventional spot for a nap has left plenty of Instagrammers in hysterics, while others have pointed out that the cat's nonsensical decision sums up how many much loved pet cats behave.

"Orange cat being an orange cat," one user commented.

The post had been captioned: "The best sleep happens only with the right aroma."
