Madonna Fans Appear 'Bored' at Concert, Video Shows

Footage of Madonna fans looking "bored" at her Brooklyn concert has been shared to social media, after the pop icon was more than two hours late to a Brooklyn show.

Fans turned out in droves for the American leg of her Celebration tour, with the 65-year-old singer scheduled to appear on the Barclays Center stage at 8.30 p.m.

However, Madonna didn't start performing until 10:45 p.m., with a fan posting a video of the weary audience scrolling through their phones and doing a Mexican wave online.

"A crowd wave at a madonna concert is when you knowwww b****** are bored of waiting," said christopher on X, the social network formerly known as Twitter.

Newsweek has reached out to Madonna by email and christoper (@heslosingit) via Twitter for comment.

Many viewers were shocked by the music icon's tardiness, calling the move "rude and inconsiderate."

"3 hours late?!?!?! GIRL! Miss Queen of Pop better keep it cute," said Pearl Bodine.

"Again?" asked Rory. "In Amsterdam she was 3-4 hours late too. Fans be warned."

"@Madonna is rude," wrote Mugwump. "I've seen her several times in concert and she is ALWAYS late. I stopped going to her shows."

Just Phil agreed, commenting: "I don't know why anyone still supports Madonna. Routinely showing up 3+ hours late is a clear indication of what she thinks of her fans."

However, other fans defended the star, with JayD describing an "amazing" evening.

"Madonna was on fire tonight," said @MisterD80. "Late start but didn't feel late because crowd didn't fill up until around 10."

"The majority of the crowd KNEW!" wrote Drew S.

"Yall [m************] would realize that part of the problem is yall showing up LATE to the venue too," commented Cherry, while @MadonnaNationX said: "It took a long time for people to get their seats. Ticketmaster was still selling a lot of tickets past 9pm."

Celebration is Madonna's 12th tour and honors the singer-songwriter's four-decade career. The 79-date tour—spanning both Europe and North America—was originally supposed to kick off in June, but was postponed until October after The the Grammy-winner was hospitalized due to "a serious bacterial infection."

Her appearance caused concern at the Grammys in February, with the "Material Girl" singer blaming "camera angles" for her seemingly distorted facial features. She later hit out at critics on Instagram, calling the speculation "ageism and misogyny."

"Many people chose to only talk about Close-up photos of me Taken with a long lens camera By a press photographer that Would distort anyone's face!!" she wrote alongside footage of her partying with singer Sam Smith.

"Once again I am caught in the glare of ageism and misogyny That permeates the world we live in. A world that refuses to celebrate women past the age of 45 And feels the need to punish her If she continues to be strong willed, hard-working and adventurous."

Madonna has clearly recovered from her illness, with other social media clips showing the legend on top form at last night's event. This included a "Vogue" set featuring surprise guest Julia Garner.

The 29-year-old Inventing Anna star was cast to play Madonna in a planned biopic, but Universal studios reportedly scrapped the project after her world tour was announced.

"Looked, sounded great. A dream," wrote fan Matthew Rettenmund alongside a clip of the superstar performing in a bejeweled corset, sparkly gloves and heels.

"Not Madonna outperforming all of today's gurls at 65," said @ChelseaStanler. "Queen of pop."
