Little Boy Attempting To Teach His Dog To Knock Over Dominoes Melts Hearts

A little boy's determination to get the family dog to complete a trick has quickly gone viral with over 2 million views.

The child had set up a row of Jenga blocks to serve as domino pieces on the coffee table. When he was ready to go, he had the family's 9-year-old border collie come over. The goal was to get Rogue to knock over one Jenga block to trigger the rest of the pieces to fall like dominoes.

A smile plastered on the dog's face meant Rogue was up for the challenge. The little boy points to one block and tells Rogue to push it in the April 28 TikTok video posted by user @tylerwrong. Except Rogue wasn't grasping the concept.

She picked up blocks, one by one, with her mouth and tossed them on the ground. But instead of growing frustrated, the kid kept trying.

"My kids are the ones who teach her these tricks," owner and father Tyler Wright told Newsweek via TikTok. "It's adorable."

Rogue eventually picked up on the trick, knocking down most of the blocks. She didn't start from the beginning but hey, that is better than most dogs could do.

Plus, Wright mentioned in the comments section that Rogue "definitely understood." She was just messing around with him.

It's not surprising that Rogue knows how to topple dominoes. Border collies are considered the smartest dog breed as they will understand a new command in fewer than five repetitions. These dogs will also obey a command on the first try about 95 percent of the time.

For Wright and his family, the kids take responsibility for teaching Rogue.

In a more recent clip, Wright's son taught Rogue to push only one Jenga piece off the tower, a skill that some humans cannot even do without knocking the entire tower over.

'True Collie Behavior'

The precious TikTok clip quickly touched people's hearts, reaching over 2 million views, 265,800 likes.

"He's so patient, not forcing the dog or doing it himself," a viewer pointed out.

"The way she knocked one single block over. True collie behavior. Gotta mess with the tiny human today," commented another.

One person wrote what the dog was thinking: "The dog is like, 'I will do whatever you want tiny human. I just don't understand.'"

"'A boy and his dog' will always be one of the most heartwarming friendships," added one more.
