Laughter at Boy Cat 'Insisting' on Doing Makeup With Owner

A social media video that captures a sleepy cat forcing himself to stay awake to peer at his owner while she's doing her makeup routine has delighted viewers online.

The viral video, which has been viewed more than 1.6 million times since it was first shared to TikTok on December 18, filmed the cat sitting on his owner's vanity table in the early hours of the morning.

The video's creator, who goes by @meowitsthesakitties on the platform, had made clear in the post that the clip had been filmed at 4 a.m. Such is the interest of the cat in staying close to his owner and watching her skincare and makeup routines that he was straining to stay awake, even though he looked visibly sleepy in the short video.

"My boy insisting on watching me doing my makeup at 4 a.m. even though he's still sleepy," the video's creator had shared in the post.

The user added in the post's caption: "And he has to be right in front of my face every time."

The cat's owner shared in the post's comments section that the video had been taken in the early hours of the morning, because that's usually when they get ready to commute to work.

"I work openings at 6 a.m. and my commute is an hour sometimes," the TikToker wrote.

The video's creator appears to own four pet cats and kittens, who each feature regularly on her TikTok account. In a video that can be seen here, the cat lover shared that she'd come across so many cats in need through the "cat distribution system."

What Do the Comments Say?

Since it had been shared to the social media platform on December 18 by @meowitsthesakitties, the TikTok post has been liked by over 460,000 users and commented on more than 900 times.

"I want a boy cat," one user wrote.

Another user added: "My boy cat gets violently ill if I don't pretend to show him the products I use."

"My girl cat always asks me to 'do her eyebrows' for her, I just put the cap on my eyebrow pencil and rub it on her forehead," a third TikToker shared.
