Las Vegas Shooting: Everything We Know

A shooting incident occurred inside a Las Vegas business on Monday afternoon, with two people reported killed and the shooter dead as well.

"We are investigating a shooting inside a business near Pavilion Center Drive and Charleston," the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said in a post to X (formerly Twitter). "This is a dynamic event and multiple LVMPD emergency vehicles are responding. Please avoid the area. We will have more info soon."

The LVMPD confirmed that two victims were killed in the shooting, according to Nkiruka Azuka of KVVU-TV in Vegas.

"The shooter is also deceased. [The LVMPD's Sheriff Kevin McMahill] says there is no further threat to the public at this time," Azuka wrote on X. "We're also learning the suspect was not killed by police."

In a statement, the LVMPD told Newsweek: "Please avoid the area due to a heavy police presence. This is an ongoing investigation."

What We Know

KTNV-TV in Las Vegas reported that the shooting may have occurred at the Prince Law Group business. Newsweek has been unable to confirm this report.

Law enforcement officials were seen closing down the area where the shooting occurred so emergency response personnel could come through, KTNV said.

Schools near the area where the shooting was reported were briefly placed on a soft lockdown, KVVU reported. The station later said that the lockdowns had been lifted.

Police said on social media that the initial call about the incident came in at around 10:04 a.m. local time.

"UPDATE: All roads near Charleston Blvd. and Pavilion Center Dr. are closed. This includes Charleston Blvd. in both directions from Red Rock Dr. past Pavilion Center Dr. Avoid Area," police said in a post on X.

Social media users shared images of the heavy police presence in the area where the shooting occurred.

"Metro is investigating a shooting at a business near Downtown Summerlin we just arrived on scene," Joe Moeller of KTNV wrote on X, sharing images of the police response at the scene.

Citizen Free Press shared a video on X and wrote: "DEVELOPING -- Police are responding to a shooting in an office building near the Red Rock resort in Las Vegas involving multiple victims."

BNO News wrote on X: "BREAKING: Shooting with multiple victims at office building in Las Vegas" and shared an image of several Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officers on the scene.

@AZ_Intel_ wrote: "VIDEO: Several people evacuated from Citi National Bank, amid shooting with multiple victims at office building in the Summerlin area of Las Vegas, Nevada," along with a video of police responding to the scene.
