Caitlyn Jenner Responds to Kim Kardashian's Jab

Caitlyn Jenner has responded with praise after her former stepdaughter, Kim Kardashian, made a joke about her during a comedy roast over the weekend.

On Sunday, Kardashian was among the celebrity attendees at The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady, which was part of the Netflix Is a Joke Fest. The event, which was hosted by comedian Kevin Hart, saw multiple comedians and Brady's onetime NFL teammates cracking jokes at the retired quarterback's expense.

Taking the stage at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, reality TV star Kardashian addressed rumors from 2023 that she dated Brady, who she compared to Jenner. Before coming out as a transgender woman, 1976 Olympic gold medalist Jenner was married to Kardashian's mother, Kris Jenner, from 1991 to 2015.

Shrugging off boos from the audience at the comedy roast, Kardashian said: "I'm really here tonight for Tom. I wasn't going to come tonight, but since I'm not here as Tom's date, there's still a good chance I might."

"Speaking of Tom and I dating, I know there were some rumors that we were, and I'd never say if we did or not. I'd just release the tape," Kardashian continued, referencing the 2007 scandal surrounding her sex tape with ex-boyfriend Ray J.

"I do know it would never work out," Kardashian went on. "An ex-athlete, high cheekbones, silky hair—you remind me too much of my stepdad now. Part of me thinks you would want to undress me, just to try on my clothes."

Kardashian added: "I know the transition from the NFL must have been really hard, but I think my stepdad is a great example for you. She's one of the best athletes in the world who proved you can do anything in this next chapter of your life. You can be a commentator, a far-right Republican—or even a strong, confident woman."

On Monday, Caitlyn Jenner responded to media coverage of Kardashian's comments, sharing a Daily Mail headline on X, formerly Twitter, that read: "Kim Kardashian roasts Tom Brady with Caitlyn Jenner dig."

"@KimKardashian this was hilarious!" Caitlyn Jenner wrote on the platform in response. "I love roasts! And @TomBrady is the best!"

Appearing to address the Kardashian-Brady dating comments, the TV personality added with a winking face emoji: "Are you sure there's no chance??? great roast @netflix."

Elsewhere during the roast, comedian Tony Hinchcliffe divided viewers by making a joke about Kardashian that a number of social media users deemed "misogynistic."

After actor Will Ferrell made an appearance dressed as his iconic Ron Burgundy character from Anchorman, Hinchcliffe referenced the famous "whale's vagina" line from the movie when he directed a joke at Kardashian.

"And how about the appearance from the great Ron Burgundy, huh? A whale's vagina. Which reminds me, Kim Kardashian's here. She's had a lot of Black men celebrating her end zone," Hinchcliffe said. "Kim, word of advice, close your legs. You have more public beef than Kendrick [Lamar] and Drake."

The camera then panned to Kardashian who smiled and nodded, as the surrounding audience members laughed.

Newsweek has contacted representatives of Kardashian and Hinchcliffe via email for comment.
