Woman Transforms Hair Into Christmas Tree Complete With Lights and Baubles

A woman has found a unique way to get into the festive spirit after transforming her hair into a Christmas tree, complete with tinsel, baubles, working lights and a star.

There may still be 40 days left until December 25, but according to some experts, now is the perfect time to begin decking the halls.

QubeLuxe style and decor expert Debbie Marks has told Newsweek that people are fine to begin decorating their homes for Christmas "anytime from the first of November."

Justice Jackson has taken her decorations in a slightly different direction, though. In a video that has racked up close to 25 million views, the TikToker and hairstylist showed off her latest look: a Christmas tree-inspired hairdo.

Jackson told Newsweek that she was first introduced to TikTok by her twin sister in July 2019, with the 20-year-old quickly finding her niche on the platform. "I decided to start posting natural haircare videos, because learning more about my hair was almost my hobby at the time," Jackson said.

"I've been really into learning more about my hair, and hair in general since 2015, so decided to use my knowledge to help others and show them what I do with my hair. I eventually transitioned to posting Afro looks and trying out different styles with my natural hair and with Afro wigs."

Jackson said her Christmas-tree look was something of an "inevitability," given that she is known for creating "seasonal looks" with her hair. "I was especially excited to get started on trying out a Christmas tree because Christmas is my favorite holiday," she added.

The result was a distinctive green hairstyle featuring fully working fairy lights, which were carefully wrapped around the hairdo. Some silver tinsel was then added to give the look an extra-festive feel, followed by classic red baubles.

The finishing touch came courtesy of a star, which Jackson happily placed on top of her head, before turning on the illuminations wrapped around her.

Writing alongside the clip, Jackson told followers: "Doing this just got me in the Christmas spirit heavy," and she wasn't alone in that regard.

A TikTok user by the name of repunzle57 commented: "This is what we all wanted and needed," with gwen miller posting that "nothing can top this." Romano_vargas wrote: "this is so pretty I'm gonna cry."

Some, meanwhile, expressed concern about the difficulties Jackson would face in removing the lights and Christmas ornaments. Gloomy_loomy wrote: "taking those lights out must have hurt," while Vivien Szabo posted: "this is very beautiful, BUT do you see something?"

While the Christmas-tree hair may have been well received on social media, Jackson said that the look was not without its limitations.

"The hardest part of putting that look all together was not being able to see to put on the star correctly because my vision was limited since the hair was weighed down with all of the ornaments and lights," she added.

Jackson also offered some advice for anyone who might be inspired to follow her example with their own Christmas-tree hairstyle.

"Find smaller bulbs to fit in the hair and use bobby pins to secure everything in place if you want the style to stay put together for the day or even a Christmas party," she said.
