Julia Fox Singing Video Brutally Mocked

A clip of Julia Fox singing is being ripped apart online, with social media users calling her performance "crappy" and a "mess."

The model and actress joined Charli XCX at a warehouse rave on Thursday. Organized by music broadcaster the Boiler Room, the 31-year-old singer-songwriter's set drew 25,000 RSVPs to Brooklyn, New York, with Fox making a surprise appearance.

Appearing on stage with silver hair and wearing a black cut-out dress, Fox sang "Down the Drain," a track named after her 2023 memoir.

Footage of the performance went viral on X, formerly Twitter, receiving over 920,000 views as of Monday morning. Although the Brooklyn crowd went wild for Fox, her vocals divided opinions online.

Calling her pal on stage, Charli XCX described Fox as a "f****** icon." The 34-year-old rose to fame following her break out role in the 2019 thriller Uncut Gems, and has since become a darling of the art and luxury fashion worlds.

Following a difficult childhood, which included growing up with a verbally abusive father, struggles with drugs and a period of homelessness, it was a chance encounter with the Safdie Brothers in a New York City café that thrust her into the spotlight.

The independent filmmakers were so enamored with Fox they cast her as Adam Sandler's mistress in Uncut Gems, with her performance landing her a Gotham Award nomination.

However, Fox is perhaps best known for her fashion career. She co-founded the luxury knitwear line, Franziska Fox and has modeled for Tiffany & Co., Coach, Vogue, lingerie line SKIMS, and Interview magazine, along with posing in the last-ever nude edition of Playboy in 2015.

Fox detailed her extraordinary life in her memoir, Down the Drain, including her brief, but unescapable relationship with Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West. The pair dated for about a month in 2022, with Fox feeling like a "pawn" in Ye's attempts to win back his ex-wife, reality star Kim Kardashian.

Their relationship may have been short, but Fox appears to have made a lasting impression on the rapper, reportedly influencing a track on Ye's 2022 demo album, Donda 2.
