"Now obsessed with cat cam, thank you," wrote viewer Jamie. While another commenter said: "I could watch cat POVS forever."

Cat collar cameras, like the one used to capture Snowy's adventure, are small lightweight cameras that attach easily to a collar, giving owners the chance to see what their pets do when they're not there.

Designed to withstand a cat's active lifestyle, the durable and waterproof cameras are popular with owners who wonder what their pets get up to.

"My cats went crazy over the meows," viewer Ava said in the comments.

While TikToker Daisy said: "Being a cat seems like so much fun."

Other viewers were delighted by the small details captured by the camera, including Snowy's paws and whiskers.

Where Do Cats Go?

Outdoor cats to tend to stay relatively close to their homes, with studies revealing that the average distance they travel is between 300-500 meters from their home.

There are exceptions though, younger cats, and particularly male cats, are known to travel a little further, sometimes up to 0.3 miles from their home.

While cats in rural settings are known to head even further afield, and are sometimes recorded traveling up to 1-2 miles from their home base.

Studies have seen rare occasions where adventurous and often unneutered cats may even travel between 10-20 miles from their home.

When it comes to what our cats get up to when they're out and about, a camera is certainly the best way to know exactly.

What Do Cats Get Up To?

Research shows that our feline companions' reasons for heading to the great outdoors include hunting and chasing prey, climbing, scratching and jumping and investigating new sights and sounds.

Others may interact with other cats, in either friendly or territorial encounters, and some just like to head outdoors to rest and relax in a sunny spot.

While cats may enjoy outdoor playtime and adventures, there are things to consider when letting your cat outside.

Outdoor cats face various risks, including being hit by cars, getting into fights with other animals or exposure to poisons or toxins.

Cats allowed outdoors have a much shorter life expectancy of only 2-5 years compared to the average 13-year life span of indoor cats.

When considering letting your cat roam, it is also essential to ensure they are up to date with vaccinations and it is a good idea to neuter them to avoid unwanted kittens.
