Ivanka Trump's Courtroom Sketch Sparks Avalanche of Jokes, Memes

A courtroom sketch of Ivanka Trump, former President Donald Trump's eldest daughter, has been met with jokes and memes on social media following her testimony in her father's civil trial in New York on Wednesday.

Some social media users on X, formerly Twitter, shared the sketch of Ivanka Trump and suggested that the image was unflattering, while also joking about the ongoing trial.

New York Attorney General Letitia James has accused Donald Trump of misrepresenting the value of his assets by hundreds of millions. James is seeking a fine of $250 million and a ban on Trump doing business in New York. The former president has pleaded not guilty and has denied any wrongdoing.

Trump's eldest daughter took the stand on Wednesday and admitted that she and others knew her father's net worth requirement as it related to attaining loan rates over a decade ago was an issue.

However, some social media users focused on the courtroom sketch that depicted her in a way that some found amusing.

"BREAKING: Courtroom sketch artist hates Ivanka Trump," wrote Mike Sington, former senior executive at NBC Universal.

X user Nate also shared the sketch, writing: "damn what did ivanka trump do [to] that court sketch artist cause this feels like a grudge."

"SHOWN: Ivanka Trump hypnotizing the Reuters sketch artist into drawing her like Heidi Klum," joked user Middle Age Riot.

Other commenters shared images and memes in response to the sketch, with user @shabatu33 sharing a famous image of a poorly restored painting of Jesus Christ.

"Ivanka demanded a few touchups of that sketch. Here is the result," they wrote.

Some social media users simply responded with reaction gifs that appeared to mock the sketch but there was also some support for Trump.

"This sketch artist clearly can't draw because the judge looks like Jerry springer," wrote user ELynn.

"She looks hot," wrote Ben Stanton, while Jason C said: "i think she still looks good."

Newsweek has reached out to former President Trump's team via email for comment.

On Wednesday, Ivanka Trump was confronted with her own emails in court as attorney Louis Solomon questioned her over her December 2011 actions in negotiating the Trump Organization's loan from Deutsche Bank to purchase the Doral Golf Resort & Spa in Miami, Florida.

The loan's terms required her father to maintain a net worth of at least $3 billion, independent of any value associated with the Trump brand.

The former president's financial statement for 2011 claimed that his net worth was $4.2 billion, which Attorney General James says was far higher than the actual figure.

Solomon presented emails on Wednesday that seemingly indicated Trump and others at the Trump Organization were aware that his net worth was lower than the $3 billion required by the loan terms.

Ivanka Trump is a former executive vice president at the Trump Organization and was initially named as a defendant in the fraud case. An appeals court then ruled to dismiss her from the lawsuit because the claims against her were outside the statute of limitations.

However, Judge Arthur Engoron ruled that she had to testify in person late last month.
