'I Need More': Viral Post Shows Cat That Was Edited Into Classic Paintings

A Redditor decided to elevate classic paintings by editing their 10-month-old cat named Gravy into them, leaving the Internet in stitches.

Reddit user u/bunnykitten94 shared an edited image of the classic "Portrait of Innocent X"—a painting completed by Diego Velazquez in 1650—to the subreddit "Eyebleach" where it received more than 16,000 votes. Though the image is nearly identical to the original version, u/bunnykitten94 edited their cat Gravy to appear stretched out across the pope's lap.

"I'm putting my cat into famous paintings for fun. I call this one 'The Pope and Gravy,'" the title of the post read.

Different image editing programs offer different features, according to GCF Global.

Some devices come with programs with basic editing functions, like cropping, resizing and rotating an image. Those interested in more advanced features can purchase the software that offers them.

The image that u/bunnykitten94 shared on Reddit was just one of several edited paintings that they completed.

In another post, which was shared on the subreddit "Cats," Gravy took the place of Adam in Michangelo's well-known painting "The Creation of Adam."

u/bunnykitten94 aptly renamed the painting, "The Creation of Gravy."

They also shared a recreated version of Giovanni Battista Salvi da Sassoferrato's painting "Madonna and Child" in the subreddit "Pics." Instead of cradling the baby Jesus, Gravy the cat was nestled up in Madonna's arms.

u/bunnykitten94 wrote to Newsweek that they've used Adobe Photoshop while in college but beyond that, they don't have graphic design experience.

"I use a Photoshop app on my iPhone," they explained. "It has ads but other than that I can do pretty much everything Photoshop on the computer does."

They said they were inspired by FatCatArt, another cat that has been edited into pieces of art.

Those who saw the updated paintings shared their delight in the comments section.

"Best thing I've seen all week," a commenter wrote. "Thanks for sharing."

u/bunnykitten94 thanked them and noted that they laughed the entire time as they made it.

"Bro I can't even describe how much this made me laugh," another Reddit user wrote.

"I have no idea why you are doing this but please don't stop," one Redditor commented.

Many requested that u/bunnykitten94 edit other classic paintings.

Wrote one Redditor, "I need more!"

"Absolute beauty," a commenter wrote, complimenting u/bunnykitten94.

These images are not the only ones to have gone viral.

A photographer took drone images of different locations and edited them to give them a unique appearance. Newsweek reported that the subjects in the photos, like buildings and roads, appeared to curve upward.

Another image went viral when it showed what the characters from the sitcom Friends would look like if it was filmed in the present day.

A video has gone viral on Reddit after it showed a dog, which was accused of "cheating," receiving a friendly pet from a hand that snaked through a hole in a fence.
