How Driver Got Revenge on Car Blocking Driveway Cheered: 'Say Cheese'

If you've ever felt the fury of being blocked in by an inconsiderate driver, you'll relate to the tale of a cheeky U.K. car owner who turned frustration into a cheesy masterpiece.

Redditor u/Jbl7561 has gained viral attention after sharing a snapshot of a white car draped in an artful arrangement of cheese slices.

"Block me in, I'll cheese your car," proclaimed Jbl7561 on the Reddit post, adding: "This was the last thing I needed last night when trying to leave home. I'm hoping I've sent a clear but harmless message."

The post, showcased on the subreddit r/CasualUK, quickly racked up over 7,900 upvotes and a string of comments, with users applauding the creative and light-hearted response to a common parking woe.

Unable to move their car from the parking space, the poster said they didn't know the culprit of the parked car blockade.

Not being familiar with your neighbors isn't rare, either. A whopping 57 percent of Americans say they know only some of their neighbors, according to the Pew Research Center.

Parking disputes are all too familiar, and street parking often causes anger among drivers. Earlier this month, a group of New Yorkers took matters into their own hands by relocating an illegally parked car to ensure the metro bus completed its route.

Reddit users, upon glimpsing the cheesy spectacle, couldn't resist adding a sprinkle of humor to the comments. Beautiful-Plantain87 playfully noted: "Haha, that's grate," while corbymatt joined in with the puns and wrote: "Seems like they didn't give edam." ookLearning13 cheekily remarked: "Someone's going to be cheesed off."

Another commenter asked: "What did you say before you took the picture of the car?" To which the poster quickly said: "Say cheese!"

Keen-eyed observers noted that not only was the cheese treatment reserved for the offending car, but Jbl7561's own vehicle sported strategically placed slices. Snoocs, puzzled, asked: "Have you... cheesed your own car as well? I feel like that sends a slightly confusing message."

Jbl7561 swiftly clarified, confessing: "Yes, that was my last-minute anxious 'S*** what if this makes them REALLY angry? Quick, put a couple of slices on my own car, and maybe they won't know it was me.'"

Newsweek reached out to u/Jbl7561 via Reddit for comment.

In August, another man gained viral attention for some seriously creative "petty revenge" when he was evicted from his apartment.

With the locks changed and unable to get to his possessions, Dylan Holson from Delaware decided to project the 2001 animated movie Shrek onto the building at full brightness, and on full volume, every night.
