Hearts Melt at Tiny Kitten's Musical Prowess: 'Understood The Assignment'

A cat owner has melted hearts all over the internet after sharing a clip of his kitten, Airplane, playing the keyboard with him, which has quickly gone viral on social media.

In the clip, shared on TikTok in October under the username Trippwilliams12, the tabby kitten can be seen lying on top of a keyboard, as her owner gets ready to play. He then picks up her paws and positions her on a key that she holds down for him as he plays 'Jump' by Van Halen.

The heartwarming post comes with a caption that says: "5 weeks old and she understood the assignment." Followed by: "She said Bohemian Rhapsody was next... Everyone meet Airplane, my keyboard kitten. Found her at the shop, send some love for Airplane, she's earned it."

According to pet care experts at PetPlan, while cats might like music, they don't care much for human tunes. Instead, they respond better to "species-appropriate" songs with frequencies and tempos that mimic the sounds of purring and birds chirping.

Their website explains that the trick for getting pets to listen is to compose music that fits into the way the animal communicates, for example matching the same frequency range of the animal's natural vocalizations.

The video quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across TikTok. It has so far received over 3.6 million views and 2.5 million likes on the platform.

One user, Caroline Howell, commented: "100 percent was expecting the jellyfish rave." And Sandoo said: "Yoo you can totally train her to help you play piano." cherii/charlie/fizz added: "genuinely thought this was the fnaf security breach theme."
