Golden Retriever Throws Temper Tantrum, and the Reason Why Is Hilarious

A social-media video that captures a golden retriever's temper tantrum, and the incident that sparked it, has left the internet in hysterics.

The viral clip, which has been viewed more than 932,000 times since it was first shared to TikTok on March 7, shows the female golden retriever sulk, wail and whine after being caught between her brother's paws.

The golden duo had been snuggling on what appeared to have been a shared daybed, when the female golden woke up unamused by her unintentional entrapment.

Male dog Cash had fallen into a deep sleep with his paws wrapped around his older sister, 3-year-old Scout. The feisty golden retriever then began to whine and cry incessantly for her release, all the time ignored by her 2-year-old brother.

"Watch my golden retriever have a temper tantrum because her brother won't let her get up," the pets' owner said.

Are Golden Retrievers Fiery Dogs?

In short, no. While each dog will differ dependent on their own temperament and the environment they were raised in, golden retrievers tend to be referred to as one of the most docile and agreeable dog breeds.

The American Kennel Club describes the breed on its website as being particularly easy-to-please and relatively easy to train. "They take a joyous and playful approach to life and maintain this puppyish behavior into adulthood," the AKC says.

What golden retrievers may lack in feist, they certainly make up in their human-like characteristics. The breed are known to thrive on human interactions and have a knack for making their owners laugh with their goofy mannerisms.

What Do the Comments Say?

Since it had been shared to the social-media platform on March 7 by @goldensscoutandcash, the TikTok post has been liked by over 179,000 users and commented on almost 300 times.

"The way she could easily get up if she really wanted to," one user wrote, while another added: "He is so unbothered by her antics lol [laugh out loud]."

"Unbothered but he also know exactly what he's doing," the pets' owner responded.

A third TikTok user shared: "We have a golden. They are more verbal and human-like than any dog I've ever owned."

The dogs are based in the States and have amassed over 9,000 followers on their shared TikTok account that their owner manages.
