Hearts Melt at Frenchie So Small She Fits in Owner's T-Shirt-—'Pocket Puppy'

A precious Instagram video that has gained over 50 million views, has melted hearts as an owner showed how tiny puppies can be.

In an Instagram video shared by user @dillon_jim on March 20, a person filming asked what was hiding in the man's shirt. His hands were around the pocket on his chest as support to what was being held inside. He then slowly revealed a tiny, black object.

As it turns out, the little object was a 4-day-old French bulldog puppy. The pup was so small he fit right inside the shirt pocket. The caption reads: "It's a pocket Frenchie!"

The man with the pocket Frenchie pointed out the tiny ears on the puppy's head as the camera inched closer to the puppy. Then he moved the head to show the puppy's face. As the person in the clip said, this Frenchie was smaller than a mouse.

The video puts into perspective how tiny puppies can grow. A French bulldog goes through about seven growth stages and will reach a full height after around a year and a half, according to the Canine Journal.

In a French bulldog's first two weeks of life, they are between one and three pounds in weight. They'll grow to three and seven pounds in the first month. Full adult Frenchies should be between 11 to 13 inches tall and weigh no more than 28 pounds.

Viewer Reactions

The Instagram clip had over 50.1 million views, 2.1 million likes, and 3,000 comments as of Monday.

"Man, I only find lint in my pockets. I want a pocket puppy," said one viewer.

Another added: "I hope I find a little baby Frenchie in my pocket one day!"

A third person chimed in: "I want all the dogs to become pocket dogs though." Don't we all? Imagine how much easier it would be to take them with us anywhere and everywhere.

While most viewers found the video adorable, the creator received some backlash about keeping the Frenchie in his pocket.

"This man is restricting the puppy of any movement while he's in his top pocket. Then when he opens up the pocket he's screaming in this little puppy's ears. The puppy needs to be near a bottle and just at home growing up. It should be with its mother. It's too young!" commented a critic of the clip.

The video creator informed viewers that this pup is with her mother and the rest of the litter. He has to feed her with an eye dropper since she is too small and cannot compete with the larger puppies for milk.
