Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya Transformed Into 'Fortnite' Skins As 'Dune' Crossover Leaks

A Dune cosmetic bundle has been leaked for Fortnite Season 8 and will include skins that allow you to cosplay as Timothée Chalamet's and Zendaya's characters.

Screenshots of the various cosmetics have been posted to Twitter by reputable data miner @HYPEX, who has previously leaked other item shop updates for Fortnite. There is no word yet on when the bundle itself will be released, but we do know that it will be on the more costly end of the spectrum, on account of how many costume pieces are included.

Among other things, we can see that there will be a new loading screen themed after the upcoming movie (which turns Fishstick into one of Dune's iconic sandworms), a couple of harvesting tools, a glider based on the ornithopter transport vessels, a "sand walk" emote, and corresponding back bling options for both Chani and Paul Atreides. Of course, the headline attractions here are the two skins, which are modelled after Zendaya and Chalamet's characters from the sci-fi blockbuster.

According to a separate batch of screenshots, the bundle will initially be priced at 4,600 V-bucks (which is a little under $30 worth), having been discounted from 5,700 v-bucks. The leaks have been verified by other reliable sources, including @ShiinaBR, who has also reported on the Dune cosmetics being decrypted.

Frank Herbert's cult novel Dune has already been adapted for the big screen once before, when David Lynch gave it a crack in the 1980s. This latest version is directed by Denis Villeneuve, who has an impressive sci-fi pedigree with films like Blade Runner 2049 and Arrival.

The film is set in a distant future and concerns an interplanetary war in which various factions are battling over a fictional drug known as "Spice", which is harvested on the planet Arrakis. It stars Timothée Chalamet as the air to house Atreides, who is troubled by prophetic visions of a stranger from Arrakis, who later turns out to be Zendaya's Chani.

Dune will be available to watch in the U.S. in movie theaters and on HBO Max from Friday October 22, 2021.

In related Fortnite news, street artist Kaws has just released a Halloween themed costume for the game. Meanwhile, the battle royale itself has now received its v18.20 patch, which added various quality of life improvements.
