Everyone Can Relate to 'Polite' Dog's Reaction to Drunk People at Party

The internet has been relating to a dog who showed his hatred of his owner's house parties after a video of his reaction went viral.

TikTok user @orange2319 shared footage of their dog Yoda accompanied with the text overlay that read: "My dog hates parties cus this is what happens when people get drunk and he's too polite to leave."

The video has over 1.5 million views and has sparked hundreds of reactions online. In the clip, a woman is seen curled up on the floor, embracing the dog, who appears visibly perplexed and unamused by the festivities unfolding around him.

Comments came flooding in as people shared their reactions and thoughts to the dog's party plight—with some even finding it relatable.

One viewer said: "I'm the person drunk people confide in at parties so I understand this dog."

While another wrote: "I relate because drunk people also like to overshare and rely on me when I am the sober friend."

Other TikTok users shared how they found the dog's reaction to the drunk party goer hilarious.

"Not him trying to inch away," said one commenter. Another said: "That would be me 100 percent. Do I apologize to the dog before I start drinking or after?"

Another referred to Yoda as an "Involuntary emotional support dog. Poor baby is so polite."

Other dog owners shared that their pets have a completely different attitude to social gatherings.

"Mine loves parties for this reason exactly lmao," said one comment. "He loves drunk people, easier to take food from."

The way dogs respond to a party varies based on their individual temperament and comfort with things like new people and noise.

Canine expert site wagwalking.com advises pets owners to always consider their animals when arranging a party.

Party environments can pose physical hazards to dogs, such as being stepped on or consuming harmful foods, or psychological stress like being triggered by loud noises and unfamiliar people.

If you know your dog really hates visitors, it might be a good idea to find an alternative place for your dog while you have a party.

Regardless of how they feel about parties, it is always a good idea to keep food and drinks out of reach and even assign someone to keep an eye on your dog's wellbeing during a party.

But for anyone worried about the video, the poster gave an update in the comments and said: "For everyone who is actually worried about Yoda, I promise he is fine. He genuinely always has a pathetic look on his face."
