Dramatic Dog Devastated After Mom Ignores Her for 6 Minutes To Fold Laundry

Dogs can't get 24/7 attention from their humans, but try telling this German shorthaired pointer that. She goes into a mood when her owner leaves her for just six minutes.

Dogs usually understand that their owners can't be with them every second. Some dogs even enjoy their alone time. But this dramatic 10-year-old put on quite the performance in a March 18 TikTok video, persuading people she's been abandoned by her owner, which was far from the case.

Stella's owner was still in the house. She was folding laundry, leaving Stella on the couch. Within those six minutes of being apart, Stella fell into despair. Her head rested against the cushion and her sulking eyes stared into the distance.

The caption on the video posted by @jencosey reads: "She's very sensitive."

Stella wouldn't even look at her owner. In those six minutes, she felt completely forgotten, which isn't all that surprising considering this dog breed loves being with their owners.

German shorthaired pointers were originally bred to be working and hunting dogs, teaming up with humans. Because of that, they are more readily attached to their humans and sometimes get called a Velcro dog.

Velcro dogs constantly want to be around you and will go wherever you go. They get separation anxiety when you aren't around.

Other breeds often joined at their owner's hips include Labrador retrievers, French bulldogs, golden retrievers, Chihuahuas, pugs, Doberman pinschers, and Australian shepherds, according to an article from Hill's Pets.

Newsweek reached out to @jencosey via TikTok for additional comment.

Viewer Reactions

Stella's award-winning performance quickly gathered attention, bringing in over 1.5 million views, 47,500 likes, and 2,505 comments. TikTok users were stunned to hear the owner left her like this for six whole minutes.

"And you're telling me you couldn't carry and snuggle her while folding laundry?!" asked one viewer.

Another offered Stella support: "I'm so very sorry Stella. Our support group meets every Tuesday at 5:30. Hugs and treats will be provided."

But it's not just Stella who acts dramatic in situations like this. An owner wrote: "I go out to the garage to get something from the freezer and my Rudy acts like I've been gone a month."

The same goes for cats too. Another added: "My cat does that when I abandon him to go in the bathroom without him."
