Dog Who Grabs Random Items to Gift Visitors Melts Hearts

Just because they can't speak like us or stand upright, it doesn't mean that dogs can't be good hosts! A pup called Gwen has melted hearts on social media after her owners revealed her way of welcoming guests to their home.

In a post shared on TikTok Sunday under the username @garre_knits, the generous cocker spaniel mix, called Gwen, can be seen grabbing a bunch of paper napkins and handing them over to her guest, before enjoying her reward—strokes!

The heartwarming post came with a caption that said: "My dog grabs random things as gifts to visitors," followed by: "Such a sweet host."

You may think that Gwen greets her guests with presents just to get strokes in reward, but that's not the only reason.

According to studies conducted by Rachel Dale and Friederike Range from the Messerli Research Institute at Vetmeduni in Vienna, and by the University of Vienna, dogs are more generous than you may think.

Scientists tested dogs' generosity and found that they are prone to share their rewards, even food, with other dogs. They're especially generous with familiar dogs, more than those they don't know.

The video quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across TikTok. It has so far received over 528,200 views and 127,300 likes on the platform.

One user, CorpseLick, commented: "I'd be honored for such gifts from the skrunkly one." And EmeraldGoddessofthesouth said: "Your dog looks like the perfect mix of the grinch and his dog max.... I love them."

Kaira Williams added: "Your dog has definitely said 'I'm retiring for the evening to rest my weary bones"

AllTheThings wrote: "It looks like he traveled through time and space to gift you with those napkins." And Gaby Torres added: "That is the cutest skinwalker I have ever seen."

Max_w2 said: "I would take every gift she had to offer every time I visit with no hesitation because she is the bestest girl ever."

Another user, Angie, commented: "My dog does the opposite, he gathers things and hides them when people are over."
