Dog Befriending Golden Retriever Next Door During Airbnb Stay Melts Hearts

Sometimes finding a dog sitter is more hassle than it's worth, so many owners opt to take their furry friends on vacation with them. Like Milo's owner who recently enjoyed an Airbnb stay with his beagle.

Their trip to Cornwall in the United Kingdom, was topped when they were greeted at the gate by a friendly golden retriever called Ron. The pair of pooches instantly hit it off and owner Anthony Murphy, 33, couldn't resist capturing their interaction on camera.

Murphy, from Leeds, told Newsweek: "Once Ron had played with Milo for the first time, whenever the owner let him out back he'd run round to our gate and bark while waiting for Milo to play.

"It was very cute to watch, but we were sad when we left at the thought of Ron turning up at the gate and nobody answering."

Murphy shared the adorable friendship to a TikTok account dedicated to Milo [@milothebeagleboy]. The clip shows Ron eagerly waiting at the gate before the pair run off into the backyard to play.

The text layered over the video says: "One time we stayed in an Airbnb and the neighbours dog (Ron) kept calling to play with Milo."

So far, the video captioned, "Dogs are so cute," has racked up 56,300 views since it was shared on October 6.

Other TikTok users have sympathized with Ron too, one user said: "Poor Ron probably wondered where the hell you'd gone!"

Another user demanded: "[You] have to go back every summer now."

It turns out Milo isn't the only sociable dog who has made a friend on vacation, in fact, some canines have been known to meet their soul mate, while others are excited to enjoy new experiences like beach walks and dips in the sea.

While there are many pet-friendly options out there, some places are strict and do not allow guests to bring their furry friends. But that doesn't mean the owners always follow the rules. One woman was willing to risk her deposit by sneaking her large dog into a vacation rental that didn't allow dogs.

In an ideal world, owners could take their pets everywhere with them, but it isn't always possible. Dogs aren't afraid to express their emotions when it comes to being left behind either. Newsweek has shared many reactions from canines who aren't happy about staying with grandparents. One owner videoed the heartbreaking moment she said goodbye to her dog, who appears to be on the verge of tears.
